The Gusto is a strong stable craft
extremely well suited for the waters of the Gulf of Alaska, Resurrection Bay. F/V Gusto
provides fast and comfortable passage to some of Alaskas most scenic and productive
halibut, salmon, and rockfish fishing grounds. Gusto is a custom built 30
sportfisher designed specifically for halibut and salmon charters in Alaska. She is
powered by twin 200 H.P. turbo-charged Volvo-Penta diesels. She cruises at 24 knots.

Inside the cabin
you will find spacious seating, including a settee and bench seat plus the
V-berth allowing short naps, a roomy stand-up head with fresh water and
plenty of room for large coolers. I carry a maximum of six passengers to
ensure personal service and the most enjoyable fishing.
Gusto is outfitted for safety and
fishing ease. Comprehensive electronic equipment on board include a Raytheon 16 mile
radar, Trimble NavTrack GPS with plotter, Ross Loran C, Furuno 585 Fathometer, two VHF and
CB radios. The Coast Guard installed a Differential GPS station for our area which
corrects the error in a GPS position down from +/- 150' to less than a boat length, so
installed on the Gusto is a receiver to pick up those corrected positions.
Custom built Alaska Series Penn
stand up rods are available to suit the angler and Penn and Newel 6/0 reels with 80#
spectra line provide an unbeatable combination. Gusto although well equipped encourages
anglers to bring along their favorite gear, bait, etc.
The 750# fish box is fully insulated and selfdraining. It is located below deck giving you
lots of room to play and sometimes struggle with the catch of the day.
Halibut, black bass, red rock fish are caught April through Oct. Silver, Pink and King
Salmon are caught July through Sept. Usually July 1st is the opening for Ling Cod which
are excellent fighting and eating fish.
